Ndlovu Lodge

Ndlovu Lodge is situated on the outskirts of Pretoria, about 45 minutes drive from Johannesburg international (Oliver Tambo Airport). Because of the convenient location of the lodge, we use it as a base camp where most of our safari’s started and end. We also run day hunts from the lodge, if time becomes a limiting factor. Hunting concessions in the area hold a number of species including Impala, Red Hartebeest, Blue Wildebeest, Kudu, Gemsbok and Zebra among others. The area is also renowned for its shopping and sightseeing – Activities deemed imperative by the wife on an African safari.


Mphumalanga

The Mphumalanga area is home to a number of natural wonders including the Kruger National Park and Blyde River Canyon region. We offer a number of hunting opportunities in the region, including plains game and big game safaris. The hunting concessions we work on in the area are located close to the Komati River, thus we incorporate Tiger fishing and Kruger Park visits in some of the packages we offer in the region. Locally the area is known as the “bushveld” and is home to a vast number of game species including Nyala, Kudu, Impala, Blue Wildebeest, Waterbuck and Sable to name a few.


Waterberg

The Waterberg region is located only about an hour and a half’s drive away from our base camp at Ndlovu Lodge in Pretoria. The areas landscape is what most people expect Africa to look like, with large plains, umbrella trees and rolling hills. A wide variety of plains game species are also found in the area, among them Giraffe, Impala, Kudu, Grey Duiker, Klipspringer and Steenbok. The area also has a number of sightseeing opportunities, including the Hartebeestpoort Dam – great for curio shopping and the world renowned entertainment complex Sun City.


Eastern Free State

The Eastern Free State is arguably one of the most scenic areas in South Africa. The area composes of high grassland surrounded by mountains and sandstone cliffs. Because of the areas rough terrain, the easiest way to get around is on horseback. The plains game that are found in this area are mostly grazers favoring grassland such as Blesbuck, Eland, Springbuck and Black Wildebeest. Because of the high altitude, the area is known to get very cold during the May to August period and warm clothing would be advised.


Kwazulu Natal

The Kwazulu Natal province is the green province with rolling green hills to the coastline from the majestic Drakensberg escarpment. There is a certain aura of relaxation surrounding Kwazulu Natal that’s hard to explain, but easy to comprehend once you’ve experienced it. The hunting areas in the region also vary greatly from one district to the next, close to the coast one finds coastal forests with Blue Duiker, Common Reedbuck, Nyala and Bushbuck. Other sites in the area include the St Lucia lagoons and swamps which is renowned for its natural beauty.
